Making an idle game

Truthfully the coding was the simplest portion and doing the animation was very fun and enjoyable as well! My main issues were internal. I spent way too much time overthinking when I knew the assignment was not asking for too much. I was indecisive about the pictures I took and how I wanted things to look which caused me to fall behind more than I would like to admit. I also noticed that I was very worried about staying on theme, which caused me to second guess my photos and take time to take more even though I knew the themes could be taken loosely. I did like the finished product even though I think I could have done better with the way my character walks and the walking animation in general. It was a bit difficult to edit the photos to make my picture look like a walking frame and that resulted in his walk looking unnatural and janky. Animation for the other objects went smoothly and were simple towards the end. I started to have a little fun with them and I look forward to making more.

Again, the code was simple and easy to understand. The only issues I had code wise was with the camera but that was mainly in the inspector, I had to fiddle with the field of view and it worked but, it did not look good in my opinion. I settled with the end result because it looked the best out of the different numbers that I tried but I would like to learn how to code a good looking camera movement overall. Normally, I would not have a problem uploading stuff to itch but I did have some size issues while uploading my first assignment. I’m not sure how to go about fixing it so that it does not happen in the future. What happened was a part of the game was getting cut off even though the size was input correctly, so I had to move around some objects so that one animation could be shown. Admittedly it was a bit annoying but as long as the gameobject is visible now I’m fine with it mainly because it was my favorite animation. Learning Unity 6 is a little learning curve but so far I have a handle on it, I think. Overally, I want to improve on how I handle projects going forward. I need better time management and to stop overthinking things. I want to take time to plan out projects better than just sitting and staring at my computer until I think of something.
